Two bowlers get a spare in every single frame. The scores aren't close.

Bowler A always knocks down 1 pin, then 9 — a spare, every frame. Bowler B always knocks down 9, then 1 — also a spare, every frame. Same ten frames, same "spare every time." One finishes with 110. The other finishes with 190.

The bonus is the whole story. In bowling, a spare's bonus is whatever you knock down on your very next ball — not your next frame's total, just that one single roll. Bowler B always opens a frame with a 9, so every one of his spare bonuses is a fat 9. Bowler A always opens with a 1, so every one of his bonuses is a measly 1. Same "spare" on the page, completely different value in the rule that actually scores it — and the gap compounds every single frame.

Both games are entirely legal, real bowling scores under standard ten-pin rules — this is an invented, deliberately extreme example (like our gerrymandering grid), but the scoring math is exact, not simulated. The final-frame bonus ball for each bowler is assumed to continue their own pattern (a 1 for Bowler A, a 9 for Bowler B), the natural extension of "always open with this number."

Scoring verified against standard ten-pin rules, including a perfect 12-strike game (300) and an all-gutter game (0) as sanity checks.
